Multi-Family: Energy Efficiency & Clean Energy

Mass Save offers a variety of cost-saving resources and incentive programs for Massachusetts residents, including step-by-step guides for home energy upgrades, no-cost energy assessments, 15-minute decarbonization consultations, discounted appliances, and special incentives for income-eligible residents. Programs such as the LEAN Multifamily program are specifically designed to provide support for multifamily residences with 5+ units. Clean Energy Coaching Program

The Acton Clean Energy Coaches are a team of current and retired engineers, contractors, and energy efficiency experts who volunteer to provide free, personalized support and in-person consults to Acton residents. Our coaches are trained to provide assistance with heat pump technologies, solar, electric vehicles, weatherization, and other energy upgrades. Building Electrification and Transformation Accelerator (BETA) Grant

The Building Electrification and Transformation Accelerator (BETA) grant, funded by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, provides free, in-depth building audits and decarbonization project planning for multifamily buildings with 15+ units. If you are a property manager or member of a Homeowner’s Association and are interested in decarbonizing your building, you can learn more and fill out an application for the pilot program here.

The “Energy Efficiency and Electrification for All” initiative was funded by Mass Save and the MassCEC Empower Grant. In collaboration with the Health and Human Services Department, volunteers from Energize Acton and the Acton Climate Coalition, Mass Save, MassLean, AllInEnergy, and SMOC, the Town developed energy efficiency resources and materials for residents who rent, are income-eligible, or live in multi-family properties. This includes resources to lower utility bills through energy efficiency programs, educational resources on properly reading energy bills and avoiding third-party supplier electricity contracts with exorbitant rates, and steps to access fuel-saving programs.
