Responsibilities and Services
The Special Services Division of the Acton Police Department is responsible for investigating all criminal activities within the Town of Acton. The division is currently comprised of 11 detectives.
Acton is no longer a small town and its proximity to large populated areas and numerous highways create an inevitable challenge to investigators. Through training and close partnership with surrounding law enforcement agencies, our detectives are well prepared to handle any investigation.
Acton Detectives are regularly involved in numerous types of investigations to include but not limited to:
- Crimes against property
- Crimes against persons
- Sexual assaults
- Computer crimes
- Juvenile/Youth
- Narcotics
- Surveillance
Additionally, the Special Services Division also handles firearms licensing, youth services, court prosecution and the traffic unit.
