Attention Firearms License Applicants

The Joint Committee of Public Safety has been advised that the Firearms License fee increases were passed in an outside section of the state budget. Since this particular outside section of the budget was not vetoed by the Governor, it is now law. The Committee and the Executive Office of Public Safety believed the increases would not take effect for 90 days, but determined that because of an emergency preamble in the budget language that they became effective immediately.
