Applications will be accepted between September 16 through September 20, 2024.
Through this program, Acton households with short-term financial assistance for emergency needs can use grant funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The program is also designed to provide emergency assistance up to $1,000.00 for rent, mortgage, utilities and child care.
Income guidelines for this program are based on 65 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy HUD FMR Area.
Priority will be given to applicants who have not received assistance in the past. However, the Town reserves the right to alter that basis for exigent circumstances.
Applications can be filled out online here. Alternatively, applicants can contact the Community Services Office to receive a hard copy of the application.
Once approved, the funds will be paid directly to the vendor (e.g., landlord, utility company, etc.) and not the applicant.
All program funding will expire on Dec. 31, or when available funds are exhausted.
Those with questions should contact the Community Services Office at (978) 929-6651 or lducharme@actonma.gov.
