[ARCHIVED] Call for Community Planning Process Volunteers - Paid Role

MVP 2.0 Call for Community Members Post

The Town of Acton is looking for up to 5 community members to join a climate resilience planning process! Volunteers will receive a stipend of $2,400 during the 9-month process.

The Acton Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Update (called MVP 2.0) aims to revisit the Town’s climate resilience priorities through a community engagement process and to translate those priorities into action.

The Town of Acton is looking for 4 to 5 Acton community members to join the MVP 2.0 Core Team! If you think you aren’t qualified, think again! No prior experience is necessary, but we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and participate in a Town planning process. Specifically, the Town is looking to work with:

  • a high school student, or someone who works with local youth
  • a senior, or someone who works with seniors
  • a seasonal or migrant worker, or someone who works with seasonal or migrant workers
  • a renter and/or resident of a housing authority building
  • someone who works with low-income residents
  • a single parent or guardian
  • someone who speaks languages other than English (e.g. Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, etc.)
  • a first generation immigrant

Volunteers in the Core Team (also called Community Liaisons) will receive a stipend of $2,400 paid in three installments throughout the 9-month process. More information on the MVP 2.0 process and a Community Liaison Role Description can be found at bit.ly/ActonMVP!

Visit bit.ly/MVPapply to apply to join the MVP 2.0 Core Team!

Contact the Sustainability Office with any questions at sustainability@actonma.gov or 978-929-6515.

The Town of Acton received a $95,000 grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for the MVP 2.0 planning process which includes this community engagement effort and other climate resilience initiatives.
