As the new year begins, Chief Anita Arnum and the Acton Fire Department would like to remind Acton residents that open burning season begins January 15^th and runs through May 1^st. A permit is required to open burn, in compliance with Massachusetts laws. To apply for your 2024 open burn permit, and for more information, please visit acton.firepermits.com . Residents who do not have access to a computer are welcome to call the Acton Fire Department at 978-929-7722 for assistance with their burn permit application.  Please remember, burning is only allowed between January 15^th and May 1^st from 10am and 4pm. Please note, no fires may be started after 12pm noon.
