[ARCHIVED] Update on Eversource Power Outages

Generator7.21.22

On Wednesday, Eversource crews began making repairs and restoration efforts in Acton due to a heat-related equipment issue at one of their substations, which caused a power outage for approximately 11,000 customers.

Crews were able to restore power to the majority of those customers, but a separate weather-related equipment failure caused an outage to approximately 3,000 customers.  As of Thursday morning, power was restored to nearly 100% of the town.

With high heat and humidity expected across the state over the next several days, air conditioners and fans will be working overtime at most homes and businesses.   High electricity usage during a heat wave places strain on the electric system.  Eversource will remain in the area completing repairs and has pre-positioned 10 large, truck-based power generators around town to restore power in the event of further outages.

To report an outage, please use the Eversource web site at https://www.eversource.com/cg/customer/reportoutage or call (800) 592-2000.
