[ARCHIVED] Final Report Published Regarding Creation of a Diversity Officer

A New Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Role for the Town of Acton

After a six-month study with extensive community input and stakeholder engagement, the final report identifies a recommended structure and organizational placement for the diversity officer role that is funded in the Town of Acton's current budget.

The report was prepared by the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management and Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies. The Collins Center team had previously hosted a webinar on May 31st that provided an update to the community and presentation of initial recommendations. A recording of that meeting may be found at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdnCSeigSZE

On July 11, 2022, the Select Board voted unanimously to accept the report which may be viewed at the link below. The Town Manager will begin the process of recruiting a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in August.
