A New Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Role: Listening to and Learning from the Community
The Town of Acton has hired a team from UMass Boston to develop recommendations regarding the creation of a new Town position to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism goals.
The team will hold a virtual listening session on Wednesday, 27 April 2022, from 7:00-9:00pm for community input and all are welcome to participate. The virtual meeting with the zoom link has been posted on the town calendar.
Residents are encouraged to consider the following questions in their feedback for the team:
- What do you see as the most critical needs regarding diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in Acton?
- What should be the primary functions of this new role?
Residents are kindly requested to keep comments and suggestions to three minutes in order to ensure participation by all interested residents. The team looks forward to hearing from the Acton community and incorporating residents’ insights and suggestions in the report being prepared for the Town. Input collected during the listening session will be reported in the aggregate, and not identifiable.
