[ARCHIVED] Independence Day Celebration - July 4th at NARA Park

The Town of Acton is thrilled to announce the 2025 Independence Day Celebration! The even opens with food trucks starting at 5PM and then live music starting at 7:00PM. Fireworks will start at 9:30 PM. This is a free event and open to all.

Below are a number of event details and answers to questions that will help prepare you for the event.

1 - Event Location: NARA Park at 25 Ledge Rock Way in Acton, MA

2 - Parking and Shuttles – All Parking is OFF SITE Please read further details below

  • All event parking will be in designated lots on Nagog Park Drive which is located off of Great Road (Rt 2A) near the Littleton town line. 
  • A complimentary shuttle will be available from 5PM to 7:30PM before the event. 
  • The shuttle will pick up at the following locations:
    • 31 Nagog Park Drive Acton, MA (furthest walk from the event location)
    • 42 Nagog Park Drive Acton, MA
    • 43 Nagog Park Drive Acton, MA
    • 100 Nagog Park Drive Acton, MA (closest walk to the event location)
  • The parking and shuttles are first come, first served.
  • Guests may opt to walk to the event instead of using the shuttles. Note the walk can be up to 1.3 miles and includes a section through a unpaved trail through the woods.
  • The shuttle buses will resume shuttle service back to Nagog Park Drive once the fireworks have concluded and will have the last shuttle depart NARA at 10:50 PM.
  • Expect Delays after the Event:
    • Please note: Everyone leaves the event at the same time. There will be congestion and extended traffic delays after the event. Please plan accordingly.
  • Accessible parking spaces 
    • will be available at the NARA parking lot abutting the Thomas E. Tidman Amphitheater (71 Quarry Road). These spaces will be first come, first served and require a valid handicap parking tag issued by the Commonwealth (either license plate or placard). This lot will open at 5 PM.  Please note for public safety, cars parked in this lot will not be permitted to leave until approximately 10:30 PM when patrons have cleared the area.
  • Parking is prohibited on all surrounding streets and will be marked with No Parking signs.


3 - Road Closures and Travel Restrictions 

  • Access to surrounding roads will be reduced or closed during the event.
  • Quarry Road and Ledge Rock Way will be restricted to local traffic beginning at approximately 5 PM to allow shuttle bus traffic and those with accessible parking plates or placards access. 
  • Harris Street will be one-way only (north bound) beginning at 5 PM until the end of the event. 

4 - What to Bring – What Not to Bring?

  • Bags are permitted but are subject to search. 
  • Please feel free to bring chairs, blankets, and picnics. 
  • No tents, pop-up tents, canopies, or umbrellas.
  • Please bring sunscreen and bug spray.
  • You may bring food and drink from home.
  • Alcohol and drugs are prohibited.
  • Leave hard coolers at home, but soft coolers are permitted. 
  • No glass containers.
  • No fire pits or grilling will be allowed, per the fire department's order. 
  • No sparklers or fireworks.
  • No drones.
  • There will be trash barrels, but please consider taking home what you bring. 
  • Please keep your dog at home for their safety and the safety and comfort of others.

5 - Will there be food?

  • Yes. There will be a variety of food trucks on site. The food vendors will start serving around 5 PM until the fireworks begin. Due to heavy demand on the WIFI, we highly recommend using cash for your purchases.  There will be no food or drink service once the fireworks begin. An array of food will be available from a wide range of food truck vendors!

6 - Entertainment Details?

  • Live music: “Thirty 6 Red” will perform immediately after opening remarks.  Thirty 6 Red is an amazing cover band that will have you on your feet dancing and singing along to a spectacular array of unforgettable hits! With their electrifying energy and top-notch musicianship, they effortlessly breathe new life into classic anthems and contemporary favorites alike. 
  • A spectacular fireworks show by Pyrotechnico begins at 9:30 PM. The fireworks can be viewed from all areas of the 40-plus-acre NARA site.

7 - Is there a rain date?

  • No. If the event is cancelled due to weather, it would be posted after 3 p.m. on the day of the event on actonma.gov and over Town of Acton social media channels.

8 - Is there a first-aid location?

  • Yes. The Acton Fire Department will have EMS available onsite in the event of an emergency. A first-aid station will also be located next to the NARA Amphitheater.

9 - Are there bathrooms?

  • Yes, there are portable bathrooms & accessible bathrooms located throughout the area and a unit will be located at the beginning of the trail at the end of Nagog Park Drive.
