On July 20, 2020 the Board of Selectmen voted to establish the following as its top priority goal for the year:
- Establish an Equity (Inclusivity) and Diversity Advisory Commission chaired by a member of the Board to focus on under-represented ethnic, religious, and racial groups, especially Black Americans and listen to community members about experiences (both positive and negative) and recommend actions to the Board of Selectmen.
The Board will hold a workshop on Thursday, August 13 at 8:30 AM to discuss the structure, composition and charge to the commission. The workshop will be available remotely and will be broadcast on Acton TV. Similar to the Goal Setting Workshop it is the Board’s opportunity to think aloud and have a conversation. There will be no public participation during the meeting. Residents are invited to submit public comments through following website in advance of the workshop.
