How to Schedule a Smoke Detector Inspection
Beginning on 10/21/2025 in an effort to make scheduling easier for real estate agents and the Fire Inspector, the Acton Fire Department is transitioning away from requiring relators to call the day of inspection on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Inspections can now be done Monday-Thursday 9AM-2PM and Fridays 9AM-10:30AM.
Please note: Due to high inspection volume we may not be able to accommodate last minute requests. We strongly recommend to have the inspection 2-3 weeks before the closing date to avoid any closing delays. Certificates are good for 60 days once issued.
